The late victim was driving a 2007 Ford Escape that collided with a 2019 Chevy Silverado on Germantown Road north of Route 23 shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, they said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said in a joint release.

The 51-year-old male driver of the Silverado was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, they said.

A passenger in the Silverado didn’t require medical attention.

Authorities were investigating.

Valdes asked that anyone who might have witnessed the crash or has information that could help the investigation is asked to contact her office’s tips line at 1-877-370-PCPO or tips@passaiccountynj.org or contact the West Milford Police Department at (973) 728-2802.
